Mario Badescu Orange Tonic Mask

I recently picked up this mask from Mario Badescu because I really like a lot of their products and regularly use them in my skin care regimen. It is described as a "tightening mask" that "helps to minimize the appearance of large pores" and is recommended for use 2-3 times a week. I used this product for a few weeks as directed because most skin care products don't really start working right away and I wanted to give it a solid chance before reviewing.

The mask has a chalky smell with a hint of orange scent-not the greatest but it isn't too strong so you aren't miserable while it's on. Once applied the mask does feel good on the face. I'm used to having thicker clay masks on so it was a nice change to have something that felt lighter on. The mask does not flake off everywhere when it is dry so there is no need to worry about it getting everywhere. After waiting 20 minutes I went to wash it off and found it to be very difficult because it left a chalky-feeling film. I usually wash my face with a light cleanser after a mask anyway but I found this one to be especially difficult. I also found it to be a bit drying on my face and needed to load on the night cream and moisturizer. My pores did seem a bit smaller but it doesn't do anything else for my face. This mask isn't enough of a flop to try to return and I will use it up but I will not repurchase. I don't think that it has enough benefit or effectiveness for the cost.

If you are interested in trying this for yourself you can order it from Mario Badescu or pick it up at Ulta for $18. Everyone's face is different so you might even like it! There are a lot of products that I love by Mario Badescu and I suggest going to their website and filling out the quiz and your information, afterward they will recommend products and will email you so you can request free samples of them!

Have you tried this mask from Mario Badescu? What were your thoughts?
